PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map data delivery system which, in a navigation device for combining difference data and original map data each time map data is read out and generating updated map data, can suppress a reduction in the readout speed, and also guarantee connectivity of roads in the map data possessed by the navigation device.SOLUTION: A server 2 generates updating data including whole map data of a core area of the latest version and difference data (dependency difference data) having a dependency relation with the whole map data in other than the core area, and delivers the generated updating data to a navigation device 1. Upon receiving the updating data, the navigation device 1 replaces the whole map data of the core area stored in a navigation-side map database 17 with the received whole map data of the latest version. When the dependency difference data for other than the core area is also received as the updating data, the navigation device 1 adds and preserves the dependency difference data for other than the core area to and in the navigation-side map database 17. |
