摘要 <p>The present invention relates to a smart TV capable of providing emotionally appealing advertisements and an advertisement providing method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the smart TV includes: a wired/wireless communication module which receives packetized broadcast contents and advertisement tag contents from a broadcast content server through a broadcast communication network by streaming the broadcast contents from the broadcast content server′s end; an input interface which receives a selection command input from a user; a control computation unit which loads and displays the advertisement tag contents from the user′s selection or command input through the input interface; and an output unit which displays at least one of the broadcast contents and advertisement tag contents according to the user′s selection. When an explicit advertisement conversion request is received from the user while the broadcast contents are implemented with or without the advertisement tag contents, the present invention can call the advertisement tag contents corresponding to the frame of the broadcast contents being implemented at the point of the conversion request to provide the advertisement tag contents for the user selectively.</p>
