PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a decrease in acceleration response to an accelerator stepping-in action as much as possible while adjusting the engine output of an engine 1 with a turbocharger so that a passenger hardly feels unpleased with abrupt change of driving power due to a turbo lag.SOLUTION: When it is determined that request driving power Preq determined according to at least an accelerator opening Acc deviates from actual driving power Pact of a vehicle and the degree of change of the actual driving power is equal to or less than a predetermined value (YES at ST103), driving power restriction control for decreasing the request driving power is performed so as to restrict a subsequent increase in actual driving power (ST106). In this case, the request driving power is temporarily decreased and then gradually increased. The gradual increase rate &bgr; is set based upon the accelerator opening and the quantity &Dgr;Pact of increase variation in actual driving power before the decrease. |
