<p>The present invention relates to a composition which includes neoechinulin A as an active ingredient and is used for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory diseases. More specifically, the composition is separated from the marine fungi called Eurotiumsp SF-5989 and has an anti-inflammatory effect. According to the present invention, the composition, which includes neoechinulin A as an active ingredient and is used for the prevention and treatment of the inflammatory diseases, can inhibit the generation of nitric oxide, PGE2, TNF-α, and IL-1βas well as the expression of iNOS and COX-2. The composition can also inhibit the activation of NF-κB and reduce the phosphorylation level of ERK, JNK, and p38 MAPK. The composition has no cytotoxicity, thereby is capable of being effectively used for the prevention and treatment of the inflammatory diseases.</p> |
