摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an installation space from being increased between a machine and a safety cover by restriction caused by operation of a robot in a gantry type workpiece transport device, and to reduce the size of an entire workpiece transport robot by reducing a weight of a multiple joint robot.SOLUTION: In a workpiece transport device, a workpiece 14 is transported by a dolly 3 moving on a gantry rail 2 provided above a machine tool and a robot provided at the dolly. In the robot, a robot base 4 fixed to the dolly and a first arm 5 are moved in a vertical direction by a slide mechanism, the first arm and a second arm 7 are connected by a first joint 6, and the second arm and a third arm 9 are connected by a second joint 10. Further, a robot hand 11 is fixed to the third arm.
