PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery arranged so that a high-rate charging can be performed, and superior in cycle endurance.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode includes: a negative electrode current collector; a first layer provided on the negative electrode current collector and including a group of first carbon particles; and a second layer provided on the first layer and including a group of second carbon particles. The group of second carbon particles is larger than the group of first carbon particles in specific surface area. In a particle size distribution based on the number of particles, the group of first carbon particles satisfies the relation given by: 1.11≤D50/D10≤1.32. D90 in a particle size distribution based on the number of particles of the group of second carbon particles is smaller than D10 in a particle size distribution based on the number of particles of the group of first carbon particles.
