1,086,324. Fusible cut-outs. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. July 17, 1964 [July 19, 1963], No. 28654/63. Heading H2G. [Also in Division B6] A method of producing an electric fuse element 1 comprises applying photographically an etchant-resistant material to the front surface of a strip or sheet 2 of fusible metal, an exact replica of the desired shape of the fuse element. An etchant-resistant strip supporting layer, such as a synthetic plastic of the vinyl copolymer group, capable of being dissolved in a solvent such as trichloroethylene, is applied to the reverse surface of the strip 2. Etchant is applied to etch away the strip 2 and leave only the fuse element 1, or a plurality of them, supported on the strip supporting layer, which may be dissolved when the fuse elements are wanted for use.
|
