PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic fibrous heat insulation material block having improved corrosion resistance such as FeO resistance and excellent resiliency (restorability), and a furnace using the inorganic fibrous heat insulation material block.SOLUTION: An inorganic fibrous heat insulation material block is used in lining execution of a heated surface in a furnace. In the inorganic fibrous heat insulation material block, a laminate of an inorganic fibrous needle blanket or mat is compressed in a lamination direction, and is kept in a compression state by shape retention means. In the inorganic fibrous heat insulation material block, oxide precursor-containing liquid is impregnated on the heated surface side of the inorganic fibrous heat insulation material block arranged toward the inside of the furnace, and is in an undried state.
