PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an electrode material and others which enable the suppression of the worsening of durability owing to a metal foreign material in a reaction system of a secondary battery.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electrode material comprises: the step (S11) of removing a metallic foreign material by cleaning an electrode active material particles with an acid solution including an agent for passivity dissociation, provided that a conductive material coating layer is formed on each electrode active material particle by a mechanochemical method. An electrode material according to the present invention is manufactured by the method for manufacturing an electrode material. An electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to the present invention are each arranged by use of the electrode material.
