PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device that allows preventing deterioration of controllability of an AC motor while extinguishing back electromotive force occurring in a coil of the AC motor by avalanche breakdown of a MOSFET.SOLUTION: A controller 100 has an MOSFET 10 including a parasitic diode 11 and a control unit 21 turning on or off the MOSFET 10, and extinguishes back electromotive force of a coil 210 by avalanche breakdown of the MOSFET 10. The control unit 21 includes: an MOSFET control unit 21e that turns the MOSFET 10 off from on; a breakdown voltage detection unit 21a that detects an avalanche voltage of the MOSFET 10; and an extinguishing-time estimation unit 21b, a correction-time determination unit 21c, and an off-timing correction unit 21d that correct off-timing of the MOSFET 10 on the basis of the detected avalanche voltage. |
