PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot rolled steel sheet having drawability and surface hardness after a carburization heat treatment.SOLUTION: There is provided a hot rolled steel sheet having a sheet thickness of 2 to 10 mm and a component composition containing, by mass%, 0.05 to 0.30% C, 0.3 to 3.0% Mn, 0.015 to 0.1% Al, 0.003 to 0.030% N, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities, where in terms of all crystal particles existing in a position of depth t/4 (t:sheet thickness) including ferrite and pearlite (hereafter called "all crystal particles"), an area ratio of crystal particles having a sheet face direction within 10° from (123) face is 20% or more, a total area ratio of crystal particles having crystal direction within 10° from <001> direction and crystal particles having crystal direction within 10° from <110> direction in a rolling direction is 25% or less, and an average particle diameter of the all crystal particles is 3 to 50 μm. |
