PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PPARαactive substance as an extraction component of a microorganism which produces a PPARαactive substance useful for prevention or amelioration of lifestyle-related diseases and metabolic syndrome.SOLUTION: The PPARαligand active substance of the invention contains as an active ingredient extracts comprising carotenoid extracted from a yeast which produces carotenoid, and further the extract is available in raw materials of foods, drinks, pharmaceuticals, and supplements as an ingredient of a lifestyle-related disease improving agent. Examples of the yeast which produces carotenoid include a yeast of Rhodotorula group or a yeast of Phaffia group.
