PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that when a nuclear power plant is hit by an earthquake, resonance is produced due to vibrations of the earthquake at high probability, and as a result, water surface waves extremely increase to cause a loss of water and an exposure of nuclear fuel, thereby inviting grave accidents, and moreover, a group of nuclear fuel pellets and storage frames thereof are broken and separated by large waves such as tsunami inside a nuclear reactor pressure vessel to cause the generation of a hydrogen gas and a meltdown, and this also leads to a possibility that the bottom of the vessel falls off.SOLUTION: The wave motion suppression structure according to an embodiment of the present invention almost completely solves the problem by using its structure floated on a water surface because of a mechanism which forcibly suppresses an increase of wave motion during resonance even if hit by an earthquake and also because of a suppression of resonance rise. Consequently, safety probability substantially increases. It is no exaggeration to say that the nuclear plant currently dormant can be restarted only by floating the wave motion suppression structure almost without alteration of the nuclear plant.
|
