<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the generation of humming sound of a coil during standby, while securing the responsiveness of heater control during printing.SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus including an image forming part forming an unfixed toner image on a recording material, a fixing part including a heating element generating heat by electric power supplied from a commercial AC power supply through a choke coil and heating the unfixed toner image formed by the image forming part, to fix the unfixed toner image to the recording material, and a control part controlling the supply of the electric power to the heating element from the commercial AC power supply, the control part supplies the electric power to the heating element by control including phase control, during printing in which an image forming operation by the image forming part is performed and supplies the electric power to the heating element by wave number control, during standby waiting for a printing instruction.</p> |
