PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the success rate of time-lapse photography while reducing the effect of phototoxicity on a specimen.SOLUTION: A microscope system 100 photographs a specimen 3 while changing a distance between an object lens and the specimen 3 to obtain a plurality of images, and stores each of the images and position data indicating a Z position at the time when the image is obtained, in an optical axis direction of the object lens, in association with each other. The microscope system 100 determines a focus value indicating a focusing state for the specimen 3 in each of the plurality of images, determines one image from among the plurality of images on the basis of the focus value, and determines a reference position of the object lens when the specimen 3 is re-photographed, on the basis of the position data associated with the image. Then, the microscope system 100 allows a microscope 1 to re-photograph the specimen 3, while changing a distance between the object lens and the specimen 3 by moving the object lens within a predetermined movement range including the reference position.
|
