<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents the occurrence of scattering of toner due to the thermal adherence at an end of developing means and stains on images due to the scattered toner, so as to perform stable image formation for a long period.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of charging means 2 each for charging the surface of an image carrier 1, a plurality of developing means 5 each for developing electrostatic latent images formed on the surface of the image carrier 1, and a plurality of transfer means 7 each for transferring the developed toner image to a transfer target body. The developing means 5 includes a developer carrier 21, developer regulating means 24 for forming a thin layer of developer on the developer carrier 21, and developer sealing means provided at both ends of the developer carrier 21 for preventing scattering of developer; and the developer sealing means includes first sealing means 26 for flowing toner to the outside of a developing area, and second sealing means 27 for flowing toner to the inside of the developing area.</p> |
