PHOTOCHROMIC FIBER FOR STOCKINGS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND STOCKINGS MADE BY USING THE FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stockings which have the effect of blocking ultraviolet rays, and in which the effect can be checked by visual observation.SOLUTION: The stockings are made by using a photochromic fiber for stockings obtained by twisting together a fiber (X) comprising a polyamide fiber or a polyurethane fiber and a fiber (Y) containing a polyolefin resin and a photochromic material. The photochromic fiber for stockings can be manufactured by a method comprising the steps of: blending part of the polyolefin resin and the photochromic material to obtain a photochromic resin masterbatch; blending the photochromic resin masterbatch and the rest of the polyolefin resin and spinning the blend to obtain the fiber (Y); and twisting the fiber (X) and the fiber (Y) together.
