PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a plate-like molded body capable of suppressing a situation where a fiber is distorted during press molding.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a plate-like molded body 20 obtained by press-molding a plate-like body 11 including a thermoplastic resin and a fiber, which comprises a press-molding step of pressing the plate-like body 11 in a state where the peripheral end is held by a holding device 50 using a pair of molds 41 and 42 to mold the plate-like molded body, wherein the holding device 50 comprises a first holding part for holding a part of the peripheral end in the plate-like body 11 and a second holding part 72 for holding the other part of the peripheral end in the plate-like body 11 and the second holding part 72 can be relatively moved in the pressing direction of at least the pair of molds 41 and 42 with respect to the first holding part 61.
