PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle, which can enhance start responsiveness regardless of a shift range selected when returning from an idle stop and suppress an engagement shock of a frictional engagement element when returning from the idle stop.SOLUTION: A control device for a vehicle, which is equipped on the vehicle capable of executing idle stop control, estimates whether or not a D range or a B range is selected after a shift range is shifted to an N range during an automatic stop of an engine, restarts the engine when the shift range is in the N range if estimating selection of the D range or the B range, and restarts the engine when the shift range is shifted to the N range during the automatic stop of the engine and then an R range is selected, on condition that the shift range is shifted to the R range. |
