PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for a fuel cell, capable of improving a high water retention ability, specifically an additive for a polymer electrolyte membrane, in considering that an electrolyte membrane ordinary requires water supply (humidification) thereto in order to exhibit high proton conductivity in a wet state, however a device for the humidification is not only an obstacle against compactness but also increases a system cost, and further is difficult to quickly cope with prompt startup and load fluctuations, therefor causing deterioration in characteristics due to excessive supply of water in heavy loading conditions, and accordingly an electrolyte membrane favorably has a water retention ability.SOLUTION: An additive for a fuel cell contains a phthalocyanine compound having a phthalocyanine skeleton in which at least one substituent represented by the following formula (2) or (3) is introduced. |
