PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide chromium carbonate (III) high in solubility to acidic aqueous solution and excellent in solubility after long term storage with a solid status.SOLUTION: The chromium carbonate (III) has a molar ratio of COand Cr (CO/Cr) of less than 0.65 and a dry weight loss after drying for 2 hours at 110°C of 20 mass% or more. It has preferably the content of sulfur (S) of 0.1 mass% or more. Further it is preferably obtained by contacting a carbonate solution and a solution containing trivalent chromium at pH 6 or less under a condition of a reaction liquid temperature of 0°C or more and less than 50°C. |
