PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device, a phase difference detection method and the like that enable reduction in error variation of phase difference detection.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an imaging part 10 that photographs a first subject image and a second subject image, which have parallax with respect to the same subject; and a phase difference detection part 30 that obtains a correlation coefficient between a first image having the first subject image photographed and a second image having the second subject image photographed, and detects a phase difference between the first image and the second image on the basis of the correlation coefficient. The phase difference detection part 30 is configured to: normalize a pixel value of the first image and a pixel value of the second image; obtain an average value between the normalized pixel value of the first image and pixel value of the second image; and obtain a correlation coefficient on the basis of a value subjected to addition processing of a value undergoing subtraction processing of the normalized pixel value of the first image and pixel value of the second image in a decrease segment of the average value and a value subjected to addition processing of a value undergoing subtraction processing of the normalized pixel value of the first image and pixel value of the second image in an increase segment of the average value. |
