The present inventions relates to a robot posture adjustment apparatus and a method thereof that can adjust the posture of a robot according to the posture of a teaching device by adding an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to the teaching device. The robot posture adjustment apparatus comprises the teaching device for measuring inertia and transmitting a robot posture adjustment value according to a posture adjustment; and a robot controller for adjusting a posture of the robot based on the robot posture adjustment value transmitted from the teaching device. When an inertia function for adjusting a posture of the robot according to a posture adjustment of the teaching device is set, the apparatus measures inertia according to a movement of the teaching device and outputs the robot posture adjustment value to the robot controller. The apparatus checks whether fine adjustment of the robot posture is selected and terminates an inertia measurement mode when the fine adjustment of the robot posture is selected. If a jog shuttle is controlled for a fine adjustment of the robot, the apparatus measures an angle of the jog, transmits angle information, and controls a posture of the robot precisely. |
