<p>The present invention relates to a vessel sludge pump driving apparatus and a control method thereof. The vessel sludge pump driving apparatus includes a sludge tank strong sludge; a sludge pump which raises the sludge stored in the sludge tank or moves the sludge to an incineration; and a priming water supply control means which controls the priming water supply for the sludge pump. The control method includes the steps of determining whether to operate the sludge pump; opening a priming water valve; determining the opening time of the priming water valve; determining the status of the sludge flow in a sludge supply pipe; and closing the priming water valve. The present invention can prevent the dry-running of the sludge pump while reducing the priming water consumption and the sludge throughput.</p> |
