The device (1) has an electrode (8) for the production of an electrical field in a chamber (7), an input channel (6) for introducing a fluid into the chamber, and an output channel (11) for discharging the fluid from the chamber. The average inside diameter of the input channel is smaller than the average inside diameter of the output channel. An independent claim is also included for a method for the stabilization of the flow of a fluid through a chamber in an electrical field, which involves narrowing of input channel for reduction of inside diameter.
