<p>A method of and device for generating search results from an electronic document. An electronic document includes one or more of an electronic book, a periodical, a multimedia presentation, a text document, one or more images, an electronic mail message, one or more sound clips, or one or more videos. The method includes displaying an electronic document, receiving a user selection of a portion of the electronic document, determining at least one keyword from the user selection of the electronic document, automatically transmitting the at least one keyword to a search engine without additional input by the user, receiving a first results list from the search engine, and outputting a result set along with the electronic document. The result set includes at least the first results list presented as a set of user-selectable links to additional information. The device includes appropriate hardware components for performing the method.</p> |
