PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable sealed battery provided with a current interruption mechanism inside.SOLUTION: The sealed battery includes a sealing plate 13 sealing an opening of an exterior can, and a connection terminal 23 attached to the sealing plate 13. A current interruption mechanism 18 for interrupting a current in response to an increase in internal pressure of the exterior can is provided in a conductive path electrically connecting the connection terminal 23 and an electrode body. The connection terminal 23 has formed therein a through hole 23b communicating with a space on that side of the current interruption mechanism 18 which corresponds to the outside of the battery, and a metal plate is disposed so as to close the through hole 23b.
