PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system related to the provisioning of a virtual optical network (VON).SOLUTION: Flexible VON provisioning may include the calculation of a candidate mapping pattern satisfying a virtual optical network (VON) demand on the basis of virtual-physical node mapping selection. Distance adaptive routing and spectrum slot allocation evaluation of the candidate mapping pattern may be executed. When the VON demand is satisfied by the candidate mapping pattern, the candidate mapping pattern may be added to an appropriate mapping pattern list. From the appropriate mapping pattern list, a final mapping pattern having one of a minimum slot layer and a minimum total slot use in the appropriate mapping pattern list may be selected. For service provision to the VON demand, a network resource may be reserved based on the final mapping pattern. |
