The invention relates to animal litter, especially for cats, that can be produced using a natural product such as the pulp and rind residue generated during the production of citrus fruit juices. The invention also relates to the method for producing the product. The product according to the invention represents solutions to various problems. One of the most important of which is reusing the residue generated in plants processing juices made of citrus fruits. The method for producing the product according to the invention involves: transferring the residue to the plant where a small amount of lime or sodium hydroxide is added for stabilising purposes; pressing the product to remove as much moisture as possible; and, once stabilised, dehydrating the product in a rotary drum dryer to reduce the moisture content. |
