A contact device is provided with a first fixed terminal, a fixed contact point, a coil bobbin, an iron core, a first coil, a movable contact point, and a movable element. If no current is flowing through the first coil, the movable contact point is in contact with the fixed contact point. When a current at or above a specified value flows through the first coil, the magnetic flux generated in the first coil causes the movable element to be attracted to the iron core, thereby causing the movable contact point to move away from the fixed contact point. Even if the current flows in the opposite direction, magnetic flux of the same magnitude is generated in the flux path including the movable element.
|
