Provided is a hybrid-type construction machine provided with a rotating device of hydraulic-electric compound rotation design, wherein the hybrid-type construction machine, during operations requiring accurate rotation manipulability, such as crane operations, drives the rotating body using an electric motor alone. This hybrid-type construction machine has an engine, a hydraulic pump driven by the engine, a rotating body, an electric motor that drives the rotating body, and a hydraulic motor that is driven by the hydraulic pump and that drives the rotating body, the rotating body being rotated through compound-driving by the electric motor and the hydraulic motor, wherein the machine is provided with a control device that has an operating mode switching unit switched by the operator depending on the mode of operation, and an electric-only rotation controller for rotating the rotating body using the electric motor alone, and that, when an operation requiring positioning accuracy has been selected by the operating mode switching unit, uses the electric-only rotation controller to rotate the rotating body. |
