摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in cooling efficiency by securely blocking gas at a place where the rotation shaft of a fly wheel is journaled.SOLUTION: A power storage apparatus 1 is provided in which a fly wheel 5 under a cryogenic temperature and high vacuum is rotated to store electric power as kinetic energy. The power storage apparatus 1 includes a gas encapsulation mechanism 20 that journals a lower rotation shaft 4 and is provided between a vacuum vessel 8 for accommodating the fly wheel 5 and the lower rotation shaft 4. The gas encapsulation mechanism 20 includes: a rotary magnetic body 21 that rotates together with the fly wheel 5; a stationary member 22 that is fixed to the vacuum vessel 8 and has a gap 23 between the stationary member 22 and the rotary magnetic body 21; magnetic fluid 24 accommodated in the gap 23 between the rotary magnetic body 21 and the stationary member 22; and the rotary magnetic body 21 and a magnetic material 25 that keep the magnetic fluid 24 in the gap 23.
