PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polycarbonate resin having excellent heat resistance, a low water absorption rate, surface hardness, practical mechanical strength, high transparency, and initial color tone, and having suppressed yellowing after long-term use.SOLUTION: There is provided the method for producing a polycarbonate resin by reacting a (a) compound-containing diol compound with a carbonic diester, in the presence of a metal compound as a polymerization catalyst, composed of an anion represented by (B) and a cation composed of metal. In the method, the amount of the metal compound per total diol compound is 1×10to 1×10mole equivalent. |
