1. A cervical spine spacer comprising:
a u-shaped spacer body having a front face, a back face, an upper surface, a lower surface, a first side surface and a second side surface, the spacer body configured to be disposed between adjacent cervical vertebrae in the cervical spine and to maintain a desired spacing between the adjacent cervical vertebrae; and an open channel passing completely through the spacer body from the upper surface of the spacer body to the lower surface of the spacer body and extending from the back face partially across the upper and lower surfaces towards the front face, at least one of the upper surface and the lower surface configured to contact one of the adjacent cervical vertebrae, wherein the spacer body comprises a first groove and a second groove configured on each one of the first side surface and the second side surface of the spacer body, wherein the spacer body includes a first hole positioned within the first groove and extending through the first side surface of the spacer body perpendicular to the first groove and extending towards the second side surface and a second hole positioned within the second groove and extending through the second side surface of the spacer body perpendicular to the second groove and extending towards the first side surface, wherein the first hole and second hole are configured to receive an insertion tool. |
