The positive-electrode active material of this lithium-ion secondary battery comprises a first active material and a second active material that has a lower operating potential than the first active material and a higher operating potential than a negative-electrode active material. The first active material comprises a lithium/transition-metal oxide that contains lithium and at least one of the transition metals nickel, cobalt, and manganese. The second active material comprises a polyanionic material that contains both lithium and a transition metal. This lithium-ion secondary battery is designed such that discharging thereof is stopped at the operating potential of the first active material. |
