<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suspend the display of preparation to replace a consumable container according to situations when consumables for image formation become a near-end state, so as to prevent a reduction in working efficiency.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus (100) includes a toner cartridge (500), a storage unit (501) that stores the amount of residual toner inside the toner cartridge, and a display unit (204) for notifying a user of the arrival of the replacement preparation period of the toner cartridge, and forms images on sheets with toner. The image forming apparatus further includes a toner residual amount determination unit (252) that determines a near-end state where a small amount of toner remains inside the toner cartridge (500), a priority determination unit (253) that determines if a requested job is a job with high priority, and a replacement notification control unit (254) that does not perform display of a message of preparation to replace the toner cartridge (500) when the toner cartridge has been determined to be in the near-end state and the job has been determined to have the high priority.</p> |
