　A mounting machine (16) equipped with a glass cover (82), provided to a cover housing (80) covering a base, the glass cover (82) making the interior of the cover housing visible, wherein the light transmittance of the glass cover can be varied. This makes it possible to vary the light transmittance of the glass cover in accordance with the state of the mounting operation by the mounting machine, and for the operator to appropriately ascertain the interior of the device once the mounting operation is appropriately accomplished. In a specific example, the light transmittance is reduced when an image-capturing device for capturing the image of an electronic component, a circuit board, etc., is operating, and the light transmittance is increased when the image-capturing device is stopped, whereby the effect of ambient light during the capturing of an image by the image-capturing device can be suppressed. This makes it possible to adequately capture images by the image-capturing device and for the operator to appropriately ascertain the interior of the device once the mounting operation is appropriately accomplished by the mounting machine.
