The image forming apparatus further includes a toner residual amount determination unit (252) that determines a near-end state where a small amount of toner remains inside the toner cartridge (500), an operation determination unit (253) that determines the content of an operation, and a display control unit (254) that performs display of a message of preparation to replace the toner cartridge only when the toner residual amount determination unit (252) determines the near-end state of the toner cartridge and the operation determination unit (253) determines that the operation to display the amount of residual toner has performed. |
