<p>The utility model relates to the field of meeting human needs, and specifically to keeping and caring for pets, to cleaning metabolic waste thereof and small household waste, and to performing other household chores. The aim of the present utility model is to reduce the size and weight of the device, to increase the ease of manufacturing thereof, and to allow for novel functional possibilities. Said result is achieved in that a device includes two hingedly-connected grippers, a rod and a handle. The rod contains, normally, a plurality of telescopically-connected hollow segments which retract into one another when made compact. A cable is passed through the segments and is connected to the handle on one side and to the grippers on the other side. The grippers are hingedly-connected to the rod and are pushed apart by the energy of a spring which is installed, normally, within the hinge. The handle is hingedly-attached to the rod, and when the handle is twisted, the cable tightens, causing the grippers to converge. When the handle is released, the grippers diverge under the effect of the spring, and the cable slackens. When the device is retracted, the cable normally remains within the rod segment cavities.</p> |
