1. Method for enriching the exhaust gases of a combustion engine (10) with unburnt hydrocarbon, said combustion engine (10) comprising a plurality of cylinders (12), at least one exhaust manifold (14) for receiving exhaust gases from at least two of said plurality of cylinders (12), and an EGR circuit for supplying exhaust gases from said exhaust manifold (14) to an air inlet (13) of at least one of said cylinders (12), wherein said exhaust manifold (14) comprises a first outlet (26) for supplying exhaust gases to an exhaust aftertreatment system (23), and a second outlet (27) for supplying exhaust gases to said EGR circuit, characterised by the steps of monitoring engine operating conditions and performing in-cylinder post injection of said unburnt hydrocarbon into one predetermined cylinder (12) of said at least two cylinders (12) connected to said exhaust manifold (14) when the monitored engine operating conditions equal predetermined engine operating conditions, which predetermined engine operating conditions are set for resulting in a substantially zero flow of said post-injected hydrocarbon to the EGR circuit for the specific design of the engine in operation. |
