This display device is provided with the following: a display unit that has gate-signal lines, source-signal lines, and a plurality of pixels; a gate-driving circuit that outputs gate signals; a source-driving circuit that outputs voltages based on pixel signals; and a control unit that displays a frame image on the display unit. In a low-frequency control mode, when a region signal that is on in a specific frame-image region corresponding to a specific gate-signal line is off, the control unit displays a subframe image on the display unit by making the gate-driving circuit perform interlaced scanning of every Kth gate-signal line at a first frequency (F1) and repeats this a total of K times so as to display, on the display unit, a frame image comprising K subframe images. When the aforementioned region signal is on, each time a subframe image is displayed, the control unit makes the gate-driving circuit scan the gate-signal lines in order. |
