Provided is an imaging device having a plurality of shutter controls, wherein user-friendliness is improved. The imaging device comprises: an imaging element which images a subject image; a mechanical shutter which shields the subject image on which the imaging element is to focus; and an exposure control unit which controls the imaging element and the mechanical shutter. In addition, the exposure control unit has: a first shutter control which achieves exposure by using both the mechanical shutter and an electronic shutter of the imaging element; and a second shutter control which achieves exposure by using the electronic shutter of the imaging element, but does not use the mechanical shutter. The exposure control unit switches between the first shutter control and the second shutter control according to the shutter speed.
