PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly estimate a transmission path response for a carrier in which an SP is not inserted, at a receiver.SOLUTION: A transmitter 10 includes an OFDM modulation part 14, configured so as to generate a plurality of OFDM signals using a plurality of OFDM symbols by allocating a data symbol and a pilot symbol in each of OFDM symbol groups #1 and #2 which consist of a plurality of OFDM symbols with a plurality of carriers within a frequency bandwidth. The pilot symbol is an SP, allocated with spreading toward the carrier number direction and OFDM symbol direction. In each OFDM symbol group of the plurality of OFDM symbol groups, a pilot symbol allocation pattern at a carrier with the maximum carrier number is identical to a pilot symbol allocation pattern at a carrier with the minimum carrier number.
