This endoscope is provided, in the distal end part of an insertion part, with: an image-capture unit that includes an objective lens and an imaging element that is an image sensor capable of reading out pixel signals from any pixels selected from among a plurality of pixels; and a procedure tool channel, and outputs signals read from the plurality of pixels provided to the imaging element. In this endoscope, the imaging unit and the procedure tool channel are arranged adjacently in the distal end part, and the imaging element is constituted such that, within a pixel formation area comprising all of the pixels, the center of a cutout area comprising a plurality of pixels from which the signals are read out is offset nearer towards the procedure tool channel, from the center of the pixel formation area. |
