A slinger (15b), which is substantially L-shaped in cross-section, has a rotating cylinder part (22b) and a rotating circular ring part (23b) bent radially outward from the axially inner end edge of the rotating cylinder part (22b). The inner peripheral surface of the rotating cylinder part (22b) is a stepped cylindrical surface in which a large-diameter part (25) provided on the end part on the side nearer the rotating circular ring part (23b) and a small-diameter part (26) on the remaining part are connected by a stepped part (27). An encoder (16b) supported on the rotating circular ring part (23b) is made by solidifying a melted permanent magnet material while a shaping die strikes the stepped part (27). When the outside diameter dimension of a hub (3) is represented by ϕD, the inside diameter dimension of the small-diameter part (26) in a free state is represented by ϕd1, and the inside diameter dimension of the encoder (16b) in a free state is represented by ϕd2, the relationship ϕd1 ≤ ϕd2 < ϕD is satisfied. |
