<p>This invention relates to aircraft tow bars. Previously, no tow bar enabled a user to transfer one's weight into lateral motion of the tow bar in order to tow the aircraft. Embodiments of the present invention use an arm member (12) having a handle (22) on a first end and a yoke (24) on a second end. The yoke is configured to detachably couple to an aircraft nose gear. A leg member (16) has a first end pivotably mounted to the arm member. A base unit (14) is mounted to a second end of the leg member. The leg member is pivotably adjusted to two positions for allowing a downward force applied to the handle to translate to a corresponding force exerted on the nose gear sufficient to either pull or push the aircraft.</p> |
