<p>The invention relates to a piece of seating furniture, in particular to a chair, having a seat (5) and a backrest support (3), both mounted on a support piece (1), wherein the backrest support (3) can be pivoted about a horizontal pivot axis (2), and an energy accumulator (9), which is stressed when applying a load to the seat and exerts force on the backrest support (3), wherein the energy accumulator (9) engages the backrest support (3) at an effective distance from the pivot axis. In order to improve the efficiency of such a device, it is proposed for the energy accumulator (9) to be connected not only to the support piece (1), but via a cross connector (6) also to the backrest support (3). The device according to the invention allows for loading the energy accumulator (9) substantially by the rear area of the seat and thus substantially by the total weight of a person sitting on said seat. In an alternative embodiment, the seat comprises an elastic covering, which is both clamped into the support piece and connected to the backrest support, wherein the elastic covering serves as an energy accumulator. According to another alternative, the seat comprises a flexible covering, which is connected both to the energy accumulator and to the backrest support.</p> |
