PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an α-glycosidase enzyme inhibitor which has high safety, sugar digestion and absorption inhibition, postprandial blood glucose elevation inhibition, and a hyperglycemia improving effect, and to provide a food composition containing the inhibitor, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition.SOLUTION: The invention provides an α-glycosidase enzyme inhibitor comprising an enzyme-treated material of xyloglucan. The xyloglucan is Tamarindus indica seed extract (tamarind seed gum). The enzyme is an α-glycosidase enzyme inhibitor which is a sugar degrading enzyme, such as cellulase, xylase, glucanase, and pectinase. |
