<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize processing loads required for reading out a pixel signal and simplify timing control in a rolling shutter operation.SOLUTION: A short-period vertical synchronization signal VDS and a long-period vertical synchronization signal VDL with a cycle equal to N cycles of the short-period vertical synchronization signal VDS are generated. Long-time exposure is executed on long-time exposure lines set at prescribed line intervals in accordance with the VDL, and short-time exposure and intermediate-time exposure are executed on other lines of an image-capturing element in accordance with the VDS. As for the long-time exposure lines, pixel signal readout by long-time exposure is started in synchronism with the VDL, and for the other lines, pixel signal readout by short-time exposure is started in accordance with the VDS that does not overlap a period for pixel signal readout by long-time exposure. Readout of the pixel signal obtained by the intermediate-time exposure is started in synchronism with the VDS that does not overlap the period for readout of the pixel signal obtained by the long-time exposure and for readout of the pixel signal obtained by the short-time exposure.</p> |
