<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the downtime of an image forming apparatus without interrupting a print job by simply performing the correction of a density sensor between sheets in the print job.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus including an image carrier on which toner images are formed, and a density sensor that detects the density of toner images, where the density sensor irradiates an area on the image carrier where toner images are not formed with light from a light emitting element during a print job and detects reflected light from the image carrier with a light receiving element to correct the sensitivity of the density sensor.</p> |
